torre1001.jpgDeep down (like many other ball players around the league), Gary Sheffield probably still wishes he was a member of the New York Yankees. Sheff might still be a little bitter that the Yanks got rid of him. So what does he do.. Continue to attack them!

Sheffield told a reporter that Joe Torre treat black ball players the same as white ball players. Sheffield said black players are “called out” in front of everyone and white players are called into the office to talk privately. Saying this is just plain stupid. Yeah, Torre may play favorites but it’s mainly the players that have been thru thick and thin with him, black, white, lavender or tangerine.

Just like in one of my previous posts, I said that Stephon Marbury should not do interviews, will this goes for Gary Sheffield as well. Stick to doing what you are good at. Move on!

I am not surprised at how Torre handled the situation when a reporter asked him about it, I am more surprised at how Jim Leland allows Sheffield to continue to make comments about things other then the Detroit Tigers and the current season. I mean, I know Sheff can say whatever he wants and is his own man and is trying to sell a book but come on, shut up play ball man!

No wonder you’ve been with so many different teams..

Show A Little Respect FarnsworthLESS! June 30, 2007

Did anyone watch the Yankee game last night, in the 8th inning when Kyle Farnsworthless was pitching? He struck out Nick Swisher and Torre brought in Mariano Rivera… MARIANo RIVERA, Mr. Farnsworthless!
Farnsworthless had the nerve to be upset that he was replaced with probably the best closer in baseball! He looked really selfish as he stormed off into the dugout, throwing his glove (and a tantrum) because Torre, a Hall of Fame manager made a decision to take him out.

Torre has made some questionable moves this year but after having horrendous road trip, the Yankees needed a win and bringing Rivera in was a great move.

Farnsworthless should be thinking about the the team instead having a fit. And on top of that, he refused to talk to the press after the game to explain what he was thinking.. Come on man, you have no right to be upset! If you’re not already on the Yankees list of players to be shipped out for opening your mouth on the Roger Clemens situation, you definitely should be on it now. You don’t disrespect an all-star closer and an all-star manager. You don’t disrespect the Yankees, no matter how much the the players themselves have been doing that with their play all year..

June 1st Yankees vs. Sox – Game 1

Well, the bats woke up for the Yankees. I don’t know if it was because Wakefield had a bad outting or if it’s just that the Yanks own him. I really think its the latter.. I know for myself, I love it when the Yankees face Wakefield because they tend to tee off on him after the first time the face him in the lineup. Their 8 of 9 against him dating back a few years ago.

But I’m not going to give the Yanks all the credit. Wakefield just didn’t have his stuff. It seems that when there are base runners on first, Wakefield pays too much attention to the runner instead of focusing on the batter. A home run here, a walk there.. He gave up 8 runs in 3 innings!

As for the Yankees ace, Wang had his ups and downs but stayed come and held the Sox to 3 runs. I like Wang, he keeps his cool. doesn’t show any emotion on the mound that would let the other team know he’s struggling.

I may be wrong but I’m going to predict a sweep of the Sox this weekend. With all that happened in last nights game, the bean balls, the emotion finally showed by Torre, this is the type that can fire them up.. But wait, Mussina is pitching tonight. Can I take back my prediction?!
