This video is in response to Tiki Barbers comments that the former NY Giants running back now NBC football analyst made during the halftime report between the Giants and the Ravens. Basically Barber called Eli Manning’s leadership “comical” at times..

In my opinion, the Giant organization may be secretly thanking Barber for making those comments about Eli Manning. It may have fired up the 4th year quarterback!

In the past, Eli may have been hesitant to step on anyones toes because of the other “leaders” on the team, one which is no longer there (Barber) Eli may be realizing it’s time to show (and prove) what he can do as the sole leader of the team. Let’s hope.
I’m glad to see some the veteran players such as Amani Toomer and Shaun O’Hara, support Eli Manning. His teammates have the confidence in him but does he have the confidence in himself?
He has all the motivation to do well and the list keeps growing. Here is a short list:

  • Peyton Manning
  • Peyton Manning
  • Peyton Manning winning the Super Bowl
  • Ben Roethlisberger (picked after Eli) winning the Super Bowl
  • Tiki Barber’s comments
  • Other Media (negative) comments
  • etc…

The list probably will go on until he wins a Super Bowl himself.

I hope Eli Manning does well.

I know it’s pre-season but last nights game between the Jets and the Vikings was pretty sloppy (on the Jets part). I’m sure they have a plan and Mangini will have them playing alot better then what they showed last night.

I’m predicting them to be 11-5, right behind the New England Patriots.

giants_logo.gif The New York Giants play tomorrow night against the Baltimore Ravens and this marks the return of Amani Toomer, out since he tore his ACL last november. Out again is Plaxico Burress.

The Giants have a lot of work to do so I’ll be back to talk about the G-Men later..

Six days and counting.

Over 14 grand the team fines for each day he is not at practice. You do the math….

That’s crazy!

Is he going to retire? Or is he just weighing his options in finding a new gig?

Ever had a job that you really didn’t like so before you quit you took some time off, maybe a few sick days to go out on interviews, looking for a better job?

This is what the Michael Strahan situation reminds me of, only without the huge fines.

I don’t think he is going to retire.

The Giants say they want him back, just not going to renegotiate his contract. They’ve even had Simeon Rice in for a physical and to meet with the coaches. Guess they don’t want him back that much.

Rice isn’t the answer.

Mike, we know you have a future in broadcasting but can’t that wait? The Giants already had one great player go that route.

Don’t worry, you’ll have a new coach to play for after a few games because Tom Coughlin won’t be there long.

Can’t you imagine playing for Bill Cowher?!!?
